Hello everyone,
As you may know, greater patient involvement is being championed by the Government in the proposed NHS reforms, however there is still some detail missing about how this will work in practice.
The Government seems to assume patients will be able to communicate effectively and have the necessary knowledge to play a proper role in local health services, including the new health and wellbeing boards.
If you have been involved in a patient group attached to a local health service then we would like to hear from you. Did you receive appropriate training? Were you able to get your point across during meetings? And did you feel listened to?
We are looking to create some case studies to help us decide whether to launch a campaign. If you have a story you would like to share, please get in contact with me at: jamie@nras.org.uk
Many thanks,
Jamie.
